The Love of My Life

I have been lucky in love. I found my man young. He was always a part of my life, having grown up with him around me. His family and my family were close. Lance is 10 years older than I am. Love never comes without its challenges however.

When my mother found out I was with Lance she freaked a bit. Talk of calling police for statutory rape and sending me to live with my grandparents happened. After convincing my mother that I wasn't in some teenage puppy love, nor was I being taken advantage of, she allowed me to date him; with stipulations. I was allowed us to go on dates, but we were given less freedom.

Of course, we broke a few rules. Shhh.. Mama doesn't need to know that :)

3 years after that, I married him. That was nearly 16 years ago and I've never regretted it.

Today is May day so we are celebrating the Lord and Lady's love.

The Lovers Holiday: Beltane

The wheel has turned yet again and now we are at Beltane, celebrated on May 1st. This is a time when the young maiden Goddess has found her lover and as people in love often do, are expressing it in a myriad of different ways.

Remember that fast heartbeat when you first looked upon that gorgeous man or woman who was destined to be your mate? What hurdles did you face when you sought to win their love?

I thought we might celebrate Beltane by talking about our love. Past loves, current loves. Love is not just for those special people in our life either. Maybe its an animal? Share whatever kind of love you wish with us.

Have a Wonderful Beltane!

Well everyone its that time again. One of my favorite times is May 1st! Beltane is the celebration of halfway between Spring/Summer. It's time of fertility and quite frankly, getting it on! Those who are trying to conceive, this is the Universes fertile time so pretend your bunnies and chain your LO to the bed. hehe.

Magaly over on Pagan Culture mentioned she's feeling a bit...er... frisky. Those that are sensitive to the Universal Energy might also feel the same. Nothing wrong with indulging, just be careful for those of you not wanting a child in the next 9 months. Thankfully I'm covered. Doc did away with my baby making capabilities for good. Woo hoo for no need for birth control. :)

So what are you doing today to celebrate May day? Right now I'm baking Oatmeal raisin cookies. Later I'll be setting up a prosperity alter. Its a great time to draw new opportunities to you.
