Wishcasting Wednesday: What Is Your Spring Wish?

Ostara Comments
~Magickal Graphics~

Happy Ostara Everyone!

What are your plans to celebrate the first day of spring today?

We will be reading about Ostara. Wyatt will maybe get to color some Ostara themed coloring pages, I've boiled some eggs to color, and later we'll do an Ostara ritual where we will use egg shells to plant seeds to start. I've chosen sunflowers, because I just love them and I think they are a great representation of spring and the summer to come.

Jamie Ridler studios has a Wishcasting Wednesday. Today's question is, What is your spring wish? I decided to do a video reply this week. But in case you're not able to watch the video from wherever you are, my wish is for us to receive our tax return soon so our cars can be fixed. After that, may Lord and Lady help him to find the perfect (and better) job!

One of the downsides to Obama's healthcare law is that businesses will always try to get around the rules. One of those ways is to reduce employees hours, which my husbands employer has done. Boo for us! So we are in need of a better job and a brand new financial future.

    What is your wish?

As I wishes for myself, so I wish for you.

    Seeds of Change: Fertility Rite.

Since we are close to spring time, and spring means fertility, I thought I'd share a few words I wrote to bring fertility to me. At the time I was coming off  birth control and I used this rite to urge my body to release the chemicals and return to a fertile state.

I am no longer in the baby making business, but there are other types of fertility. Perhaps you wish to plant the seed for change or opportunity. Whatever your purpose, here are a few words I hope will inspire you with your own fertility rite.

Cleansing thought are what is needed,
to purge my body of chemicals no longer needed.

    Freshness of body,
    Freshness of mind,
    Freshness of spirit that intertwines.

When all is said and done,
    Fertility shall be mine.

    So mote it be.

    The Songs of Spring

One of my favorite times of the year is when we are on the cusp of spring. I know we probably have a month or two left of cold weather, but today feels like a brisk spring day. As I was walking to the mailbox to mail out a resume' (Wish me luck!) I heard the sounds of birds chirping. I'm not even sure what kind of birds they are, but they always bring me great peace each time I hear them.

A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song.
    Chinese Proverb

Somehow they are saying, "All is right with the world." I love that their song brings peace to my soul. I wish I could sit outside and meditate to the birds today, but it's just too cold and too many people around to do that. So here's the next best thing. An hour of bird chirping on Youtube. Perhaps you'd like to meditate with me?  ;)

    The Spring-Time Mission

So yesterday my daughter decided she wanted to take a walk. In the interest of keeping her busy and because I wanted some pictures, I told her to go "find Spring". I think that would also be a fun prompt for people studying photography at accredited online colleges. Mostly she took pictures of dead grass like this one.

And this one. Their both pretty but not a whole lot of green yet. Though perhaps that will change with the spring-like thunderstorm we are having right now.

She did take a picture of some birds, and we've been hearing them chirp a lot more lately. Those specs in the sky are the birds.

I hate Winter, so I'm glad this year has been mild. Though I'm under no illusion that it's over yet. I hate the weather yo-yo effect we always have. One minute it feels great and the next your bundling up in a coat again.

What is your favorite season? Do you have any family traditions to welcome Springtime?

    Thanks

Your comments encourage me to keep writing! Thank you for visiting and sharing your thoughts with me.
