Two Years Ago Today

Two years ago today, I was allowing a stranger to cut me open. I remember that day very vividly. My nurse was an older lady and her expert manor had a calming affect on me. As I was positioned at the edge of the operating table, I focused on her beautiful eyes while they inserted a spinal. I was then laid out on the table. I remember feeling like I was about to be a pig bound for slaughter.

My husband came in and sat by my head while they cut me, and at exactly 9 AM my baby boy was born.

Happy 2nd Birthday Wyatt!

Cake and ice cream equals a very happy little boy!
How do you like his cake I baked?

We've also successfully breastfed for 2 years now! Wow I didn't think we'd ever breastfeed for so long. When I first began I said my goal was 6 months. Then I changed it to 1 year. Then changed it to 2 years. I suppose that goal will be changed to 3 years next. :)

2 Years successfully breastfed! Yay. :)

Below is Wyatt on his 1st birthday. My how he has grown!

Happy Birthaversary to me!

I'm bringing last year's post back to just update. Today is once again my 33rd birthday and our anniversary. 15 years now! We lovingly call it my Birthaversary. How the hell did I put up with him for so long? lol

We're spending the day with Lance in bed because he's sick, and I'm irritated because I was given a table on Freecycle and he won't go get it. Such is life right? But I still love him, even though he's a big baby when he's sick.

No presents, no cake. All the usual bit. We wake up, he says Happy Birthaversary. I say thank you and happy Anniversary. Then we're back to our daily lives. Perfect marriage right? lol

Wyatt fell asleep like this last night. lol

I couldn't resist adding a picture of my little man. I think I've neglected to mention on here that we are now cloth diapering. A friend and I made a trade. My breast pump for 10 cloth diapers yesterday. This blue jeans one was apart of that trade. Isn't he adorable in it?!

We've been cloth diapering for about a month now. Because my apartment has no washer/dryer hookup I wash by hand. It's going well though and I see no reason I can't continue cloth diapering up till he's potty trained. :)

Lance, the Kiss freak

This man, right to the left there, is the goofiest man alive! And he's all mine. :) November 4th marks 14 happily married years of putting up with silly antics from the man of my dreams. We have a 10 yr difference in our ages, and I can remember from a small girl I was infatuated with him!
Our relationship is kinda , well , weird. Without going into all the details, he's always been in my life. We saw each other occasionally. I was a little girl in pig tails who followed him around constantly. Then we moved away and I didn't see him for a long time. When I was 14 he moved to KY and lived with us for awhile. I still remember that day vividly. When we came home he was sitting in a chair by our front door. He had long hair and a gray t-shirt and jeans on. He looked like the bad tattoo man. You know the one you wouldn't want your daughter to go out with. Instant puppy love I tell you!
Over the next couple of years I'd have to see him date other women and it was torture for me! I knew they were not good enough, but I didn't let my feelings get in between us or stop me from dating others. We both went our separate ways as far as relationships.
Lance before we were together
Over the years his antics would make me laugh, cry, and shake my head in disbelief a few times!

2008
So what is a Birthaversary? Well it is my Anniversary and My Birthday! Today marks my 32 days young birthday.

Since money is an issue we've never really been able to do much for our anniversary. This year DH bought me a crochet hook and yarn so I get to finally start learning a new craft!  I've been wanting to do this for some time now. I spent 4 hours doing a simple chain over and over again. I think I unraveled it 2 or 3 times. But anything worth doing takes practice!

So here is what I finally accomplished.

My first attempt before I unraveled it. See I wasn't counting my rows and was getting lost a bit at the ends.

My finished product!

Now I'm going to spend some time on crochet websites learning more and then I'm going to attempt a baby blanket for Wyatt. I may also try a little hoodie or booties too. :) I simply love being a crafty little witch.

Blessings Love and Light my darlings.

Birthday Pictures

Well my pretties I've had my head in a book most of the weekend. The other day my daughter wanted something to do so we took a trip to the public library. You know I just couldn't walk out of there with at least 5 things to read.

We had Wyatt's birthday party on Saturday. He seemed to really enjoy it. He had a smash cake, which immediately got smashed to pieces. I can see it was well named. lol

I've been thinking about what's next for writing, and I'm coming up blank for topics. Anyone have any suggestions? I'd love to hear them.

Without further ado. Here's Wyatt's birthday pictures.

Just hanging out in the yard waiting for daddy to come home so we could start the party.

The cupcake and smashcake

Wyatt gets to see his cake for the first time. I really wish I was able to catch his expression because it was priceless! Too bad I had the wrong angle.

Mmm. Smashcake!

Yummy frosting

Ta-da! I'm all messy and ready to open presents.

Happy Birthday Wyatt!

A year ago today I was terrified and laid out like a suckling pig on the surgery table allowing a near stranger to cut me open. But it was all for a good cause. Wyatt Eldon Carpenter was born at 9am on May 18th 2011 via c-section. Happy 1st birthday to my little man! Also, a big congrats to myself for successfully breastfeeding for one year! :) It was a rough start but we finally made it through. (And we won't be weaning).

Here's a picture journey through the year.

Happy Birthday Sierra Belle!

Today is my daughter's birthday. I can't believe my baby doll is 10 years old! She has brought us such joy. When I was pregnant with Sierra my husband and I discussed the qualities we hoped she'd inherit. He wanted her to have his personality and my looks. Well she does have my looks, except she has his eyes. And unfortunately she has my timid personality as well. I know how hard it is to learn to stick up for yourself. Its really hard to do when you don't want to hurt anyone and would rather be hurt yourself than cause another person pain. I learned the hard way that I had to protect myself. Sierra hasn't learned that lesson yet.

Since our current finances prohibit us from buying her anything, we are taking her to the pumpkin festival in Circleville, OH. She's also requested I make her a chocolate cake to be presented at the time she gets off the bus on her birthday. lol. I think I can manage that!

I also have a job interview today, so hopefully I will have even better news once I get home.

Edited to ADD:

Well I am home from the interview and I declined the position. More on that later. But we had a little birthday thing, I don't want to call it a party because it wasn't, for my daughter. Here are some pictures.

The Cake. Its a chocolate cake with cream cheese icing.
