I'm actually not into scary movies. As a kid I'd see a lot of things that scared me, so Freddy and all those other 80's horror flicks just wasn't appealing to me. I was the kid that if I watched a scary movie late at night, I wouldn't be able to go to sleep without waking up screaming Freddy was going to get me. Once upon a time even Wizard of Oz was a bit too dark for me.
So instead I like the childish Halloween movies. Disney channel has a few good ones and I watch them with my daughter every year. Usually Halloween Town is the more popular one. Its silly, its fun, and the best part is it won't give me or my daughter night terrors.
My girls and I love to watch Halloween Town and Hocus Pocus. I can do without slasher films.
ReplyDeleteAnother really excellent family one, though not very well known as I think it only aired on ABC Family, is When Good Ghouls Go Bad. It is surprisingly witty for being such a small film. Also, who can resist Christopher Lloyd as a zombie grandpa who, after his hand falling off in a fight, yells, "You want a piece of me?"
